My name is Anna Hammarström and I'm 22, born on the second of January, 1981.
I live in Umeå, a town in the north of Sweden. I was born and raised here and I love it! Just add a few more pubs, a ska-club and alot of gigs and I'll stay forever.
Ok, so the winters are long and cold but on the other hand the summers are warm and the sun nearly never goes down. Can you imagine anything better than sitting in the grass with your friends, a beer in your hand and great music on the stereo...and the sun is shining twentyfour seven :) I know I can't!
LIVES
I used to live in a neighbourhood called Sofiehem with my parents, Bertil and Birgitta, but for the last 3 years I have lived in a flat at Ålidhem. I spend most of my time with my boyfriend in his flat but i sleep at home when he works.
SKINGIRL
I've been a skin for about 5 years and before that I was a punk for a coupple of years. I ended my days as a punk 'cus many people are calling themselves punks today but they are not what I think punk is all about. I also got involved in the skinhead culture and thought this was something for me!
I think being a skinhead is about pride... in your self, your mates, your country and more, about unity, loyalty and just about having a great time. About beeing yourself and never give in. This is just what I think...but I know there is a lot of skins supporting these thoughts.
FRIENDS
There are quite many skinheads here in Umeå. We're about 15 skins here and I've noticed that's a lot considering Umeå is a town with only about 100 000 inhabitants. Unfortunetly I'm the only skingirl here but there are a few other decent girls around :)
WORK
I graduated from school, the mediaprogram, 3½ years ago. After that I worked at a firm of electricians for a 1½ year and then I went back to school. I studied at the university for about a year but now I work with telemarketing. I have absolutely NO idea what to do with my life so please drop me a line if you have a tip.
LOVE
I have a found the best boyfriend. We've been together for about 1½ year but we were frinds before that too. He's name is Mattias Åberg and he's so sweet! He plays gutiarr in a oi/punk band called The Sluggers. He lived with me during the summer 'cus he had no place of his own but now he has moved in with a friend, a german guy called Philipp. They live very close to me though and that's great!

MUSIC
I listen to Oi!, punk, hardcore, ska, reggae, soul, rockabilly, psychobilly, rock n' roll, heavy metal, vikingrock and some other shit. My favourites for the moment are Cock Sparrer, Deadline, The Oppressed, Condemned 84, Mans Ruin, Distillers, Patriot, The Sluggers, Blood for Blood, Symarip, Desmond Dekker, Social Distortion, Demented Are Go, Small Town Pimps, Hel...and many more... :D
POLITICS
When it comes to politics my heart is to the left but actually I'm not that interested in politics. And I really think it's important to point out that politics has absolutely NOTHING to do with the skinhead culture and my left-winged heart has nothing to do with the fact that I'm a skinhead!
TATTOOS
I love tattoos. I got my first one as a birthdaypresent from my parents (!) when I turned 16. I made a scorpio an my shoulder. If I made my first tattoo today I wouldn't choose that motif but I still like the tatto 'cus it's my first :)
After that I hade to wait two years and made my next when I turned 18, a tribal and a star in the back of my neck.
I have 14 tattoos now and I'm getting more and more into old school...and there's more to come :)
UMEZINE
I'm writing a Oi! / Punk / Ska / Reggae / Vikingrock fanzine called Umezine. ('cus I'm from Ume' ) My boyfriend helps me with it now and we are working with issue nr 7 at the moment.
When I'm writing about it I can take the chance to thank everyone who has helped me. Thanks to all the record companys and bands. Thanks to all other fanzinemakers and to my dear friends. Thanks to all people supporting the scen and a speciell thank you to three guys who has helped me alot: Chris Jones, Kim Ahl and Mattias Åberg. You're the best!
