Started singing at the age of 5 in children's programs and won several talent contests until the age of 16 +++ Signed a recording contract with LONDON records in 1949 +++ Her first release - "Music! Music! Music!" - already shot up to no. 1 +++ "Till I Waltz Again With You", her second no.1 in 1952, even stayed 5 weeks at the top +++ Had her movie debut in 1953 in "Those Redheads from Seattle" +++ Further hits until 1961 made her one of the top female singers of the 50's, including "A Tear Fell", "Let Me Go, Lover", "A Sweet Old Fashioned Girl" and "You send me" +++
