Began singing in the Los Angeles area in clubs +++ First recordings with EXCLUSIVE records in 1945, however, only with little success +++ Changed to MERCURY records and had first TOP 10 hit in 1947 with "That's My Desire" +++ Frankie sold more than 100 millions records and received 14 golden records awards +++ Later sucesses, altogether he had over 40 pop hits until his last chart entry in 1969, included "Mule Train", "Jezebel", "Jealousy", "High Noon" (soundtrack from the movie of the same name, starring Gary Cooper), "I Believe", "Moonlight Gambler" and "Love Is A Golden Ring" +++ Frankie's 8th million seller, "I Believe", stayed 18 (!) weeks at the no. 1 spot in Britain +++
