+++  Joined  "The  Royals" - group name  later  changed  to  "The Midnighters" - in 1953 as lead singer +++ Had string of  sexually oriented hits for FEDERAL records (subsidiary of KING) with "Work with me Annie", "Annie  had a  baby"  and  "Annie`s Aunt Fannie" +++ Went solo  in  1958  +++ Recorded  "The Twist" on November 11, 1958 in Cincinnati at KING records, which became a hit in early 1959, although it had only been released as a "B" side +++ Further hits  included  "Teardrops  on your letter" ("A" side of "The Twist"), "Finger poppin' time" and "Let's  go, let's  go, let's go" +++
