The Scaffold was formed already during the summer of 1962 as a comedy act +++ Only in 1967 the group started to use musical sketches during their performances +++ A McCartney composition, "Thank U Very Much", released in December 1967 on the COLUMBIA label, produced their first hit +++ Almost a year later, their version of a classic rugby song (Lydia Pinkham), entitled as "Lily The Pink", gave them their biggest hit and worldwide million seller +++ The group still recorded until 1974 and had another Top 10 hit in the UK with "Liverpool Lou" in June of that year +++
