Tommy Roe

Born: Mai 9, 1942
Atlanta, Georgia

Real name: Thomas David Roe

Formed his first group, The Satins, already during his high school years +++ In 1960, Tommy Roe & The Satins recorded the title "Sheila" for JUDD records, however without any success +++ 2 years later, Tommy recorded for ABC-PARAMOUNT +++ His first release for the label, "Save your kisses" had a re-recording of "Sheila" as B-Side +++ Surprisingly, the B-side was much more successful than the A-side, reaching the no. 1 spot in the US and later also topped the charts in Britain +++ After that, Tommy wrote more than 25 songs, 20 of which had chart success worldwide, incl. 'Everybody", "Sweet Pea", "Hooray for Hazel", "Dizzy" until "Jam Up Jelly Tight" in 1969 +++ Later recordings for MGM records, however, had only little chart success in the early 70s +++
