The Cowsills taught themselves to play guitar during the 60s +++ In 1967 MGM released their first record, "The Rain, The Park & Other Things", which became an instant hit and their biggest selling record +++ Other, though smaller, hits followed, such as "We Can Fly", "In Need of A Friend","Indian Lake", "Poor Baby" and another million seller, "Hair" until 1969 +++ When mother Barbara passed away, the band broke up +++ Bill Cowsill pursued a solo career and still does some study work +++ Susan participated in a couple of punk rock bands and later married a member of the group Hootie & The Blowfish +++
