Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey & Mary Allin Travers

All group members came from the Greenwich Village scene in New York and had been performing before they got together as a trio in 1961 +++ Between 1962 and 1969, the group had dozens of hits, including "Lemon tree", "If I had a hammer", "Puff, the magic dragon", "Blowin' in the wind", "I dig Rock and Roll music" up to their last chart entry and only no. 1, "Leaving on a Jet Plane" +++ They disbanded in 1971 to pursue solo careers, but reunited seven years later and are still performing and recently also recording again +++
