+++ Debuted at the age of 9 in his family`s radio show +++ Movies and TV shows followed +++ First recordings with VERVE records in 1956 +++ First major hit with the double sider "A Teenager's romance" and "I'm walkin" (a Fats Domino cover) +++ Later signed with IMPERIAL records +++ Had many major hits, including "Poor little fool" (1958), "Travelin'man" (1961), "It's late"(1959) and "Hello, Mary Lou" (1961) +++ Changed his name to Rick Nelson in 1961 +++ Reached the Top Ten in the US again in 1972 with "Garden party" +++
