+++ Started recording hillbilly music for EKKO records in 1955 +++ Changed to Rock'n'Roll after seeing an Elvis concert and signed with LIBERTY records in 1956 +++ Starred in the film "The girl can't help it", in which he sang "Twenty flight rock" +++ Further recordings for LIBERTY included "Sittin' in the balcony" (first release in 1956) and such million-sellers as "Summertime Blues", "C'mon everybody" and "Somethin' else" +++ Died in a car crash, when returning from a gig with Gene Vincent (also injured in the crash) +++
