+++ Started singing professionally with The Crowns, which became The Drifters in 1959 +++ Sang lead on hits, such as "There goes my baby" and "Save the last dance for me" +++ Went solo in 1960 and released "Spanish Harlem" in early 1961 on the ATCO label +++ Other smash hits followed, "Stand by me", "Don't play that song", "How can I forget" and, much later, in 1975, "Supernatural" +++
