+++ Originally a merchant sailor, Gene was partially disabled in a motorcycle accident +++ In 1956 some demo tapes (incl. "Be-bop-a-lula") convinced CAPITOL records +++ Gene Vincent and his band, The Bluecaps, first recordings included "Be-bop-a-lula" and "Woman love", released in 5/1957 as a double A-side +++ Further hits followed, including "Race with the devil", "Lotta lovin'" and "Dance to the bop" followed +++ During the 60s he lived and performed mostly in Britain and tried several comebacks +++ Died of a bleeding ulcer +++
