The Deftones are from Sacramento, California.
They are the premier new metal band. Chino's voice which can be a
melodic whisper and other times an angry growl , blends with
Stephen Carpenter's distortion-laden , crushing riffs. Combined
with the low-end of Chi Cheng's bass lines and Abe Cunningham's
caffeine drum beats; you get the unique sound of the Deftones.
After many small club gigs and demos they finally scored a deal
with Maverick Records. The Deftones have since toured worldwide
with such bands as Ozzy, White Zombie, Pantera, Korn, Limp
Bizkit, and yes KISS. They have also been on the Vans Warped
Tour.
