Gone
1998
I met you on a sunny day
People all around
Out of so many faces
It was yours I found
Your hair so golden blonde
Shining in the sun
Your eyes of crystal blue
Promising lots of fun
You spoke to me, said "Got a name?"
Then asked if I was 'free'
Staring into your gorgeous eyes
I timidly asked, "Who me??"
You smiled at me and took my hand
Then led me from the crowd
Out to your car parked in the field
Where the noise was not so loud
We talked that day for quite some time
Until I had to go
You asked if you could call me
How could I possibly say no
That was thirteen years ago
Through the years our love grew and grew
But now you are gone and I must go on
How? I havent a clue
You were my life; my reason to live
And I write this poem for you
Though you may be gone
Your memory lives on
For I will always be thinking of you
