Nessi writes almost exclusively at work, where this journal began as a distraction from the hum drum of office life. Petra often writes at home as well.

Petra lives behind All Hallow's road, and Nessi and Vimco live in F Park, not far from where Power Pack lives, which is in Football Central. When this journal began, Petra developed an annoyingly inconsistent habit of re-naming places. So if you come to London please do not look for Twelve Nuns Road, as it does not exist (not with that name anyway). Neither does the Horses Arse neighborhood (at the junction of All Hallows and Twelve Nuns roads). However, places like Shoredith and Stoke Newington DO exist.

Main characters:

The Art Movement: A losely aligned group of painters in London and K*nt, led by BC anmd Henry Dimple. Nessi, Petra and Power Pack are also involved, though they are increasingly reluctant to be so.

The Cardinal: Cardinal Chunder. What we say when some one vomits, usually from alcoholic excess.

Dan: Petra's flatmate. Computer geek/sound engineer.

Fatty: is not fat at all, but used to be in a band called the Feetjackets, with Brice Brand and BC who are both skeletons. Now plays with Power Pack and Petra in the Succulent Singles.

Henry: aka Henry DimplePoet/painter, co-leader of Art Movement. A cross between Postman Pat and Kennesth Williams. Friend of Power Pack and BC from K*nt.

Ivan: Petra's flatmate. Musician, artist and poet who is 6'5" and can drink anyone under the table without slurring a word. Also has never had a hangover. And never buys toilet paper. Old friend of Power Pack.

Power Pack: poet, painter, musician and (former)transvestite. Petra's better half. See his picture below.

Quiffgirl: Lives on booze, cigarettes, and sex. Petra was going to start a band with her, but now they just socialise and ride bicycles.

Scottish John: Also known as the New C*ck in town. Lives with Stinky in the Falcon's Nest. where Nessi and Vimco used to live.

Stinky: Lives in the Falcon's Nest with Scottish John. Likes doggie porn.

Swiss Miss, the: Lives with Petra.

Vimco: Nessi's fab boyfriend. Lives with Nessi.

Anne: Vladimir's wife.

Bain and Fib: mutual art/music/film/retro-60's friends of Petra and Nessi. Bain runs a vintage recording studio called Finger Cloth.

BC: poet painter and musician who has made over 80 albums and 1000 paintings but is stil best known for being Miss E's ex-boyfriend. Also old friend of Power Pack co-founder of the Art Movement. Father of Leadbaby.

Mr and Mrs Bentley: friends of Petra. Live in Richmond. Aptly psudonymed after their car. They also own 2 kids which means they don't get out much.

Betty and Mr Tiki: mutual art/music/film/retro-60's friends of Petra and Nessi. Mr Tiki owns the only Polenesian Tiki hut bedroom in North London. Also makes films and puts on clubs. And surfs. As in waves, not the net.

The Book Guy: From K*nt. Is/was writing a book about the Art Movement.

The Bootlegger: Fan of Power Pack's. Tapes all the gigs he goes to.

Mr Casino: Worked in a porn shop in Soho. Was in jail for porn, Dec 99 - sep 2000. Used to sing with the Arctic Circle. Is worshipped by young rockabilly wannabes. Used to go out with Serena and Quiffgirl but not at the same time.

The Cat: Furry 4 legged feline who likes to shag the Teddy Bear. (Petra's)

Conny: aka Miss Berlin. Writes for a communist newspaper and organises music tours and art shows for Petra, Power Pack, BC, The Art Movement, etc, in Germany. Often visits London and can drink most people under the table.

Debs: Old friend of Nessi.

Donna: Old friend of Nessi. Lithuanian.

Miss E: calls herself an artist. Exhibits her dirty underwear in major galleries. Henry Dimple can't stand her. Ex-girlfriend of BC and half of the K*nt coast.

Mrs Emerald: Friend of the Swiss Miss. Seperated from Mr Emerald who we don't really see any more.

Fib and Bain: mutual art/music/film/retro-60's friends of Petra and Nessi. Bain runs vintage recording studio Finger Cloth.

Finn: Tom's brother. Plays with Tom in the Blazing Comets and sometimes the Arctic Circle. VERY flakey.

Frankie, & Ricki: friends of Power Pack. The first two split from a drum & bass band with Speedy in summer 1999.

The Gallery Guy: Runs the Gallery where the Art Movement has shows.

The Gambler: Quiffgirls' boyfriend. Moniker is self-explanatory. Used to work in porn shops, now does roofing.

Giovannni: boyfriend of the Swiss Miss.

Miss Gitterlips: skinny C Town blonde who looks like Twiggy with glitter smeared all over her face. Rumoured to have had an affair with Serena.

Miss Haifa: Old friend of Petra. Israeli artist.

Jacks: Old friend and ex-flatmate of Nessi.

Klara: Ex-girlfriend of BC. Mother of Leadbaby. Girlfriend of Mr Spoon (as of Sept 2000).

Knife Girl: Used to live with Petra. Once tried to stab Ivan.

Mr KY: Writer/artist in Lexington. Petra's naughty email pal.

Leadbaby: born in December 1999, son of BC asnd his ex-girlfriend Klara. (Not sure what we're going to call Leadbaby if this journal is going when he's no longer a baby.)

Marani: Petra's oldest friend in London. Used to play in a girl band together, called the Juju Princesses.

Ronnie: Old friend and ex-flatmate of Nessi.

Ricki: friend of Power Pack. Goes out with Frankie. Ricki and Frankie play music together, sort of drum & bass.

The Sofa Man: Friend of Ivan who is living on Petra and Ivan's sofa. Seems to like watching the grusome trash he can find on tv. (lived there Aril-Sept 2000)

Serena (formerly Mrs Casino): lives with Tom in C Town. Sings with the Arctic Circle as well as her own cabaret act.

The Sorcerer: Screaming queen who organises gay cabaret events and clubs. (former?) Friend of Power Pack.

Speedy: Power Pack's former flatmate. Pouf.

Mr Spoon: friend of Power Pack. Looks like a dapper gentleman with his chubby belly, goatee, tweed suits and bow ties, but don't be deceived. He had an unhealthy obsession with serial killers, until Sept 200 when he started going out with Klara. He now likes babies.

Thug: guitarist in the Blazing Comets. Also plays in Tom's Arctic Circle.

Mr Tiki (formerly called 'JC') (and Betty): mutual art/music/film/retro-60's friends of Petra and Nessi. Mr Tiki owns the only Polenesian Tiki hut bedroom in North London. Also makes films and puts on clubs. And surfs. As in waves, not the net.

Tom: drummer in the Blazing Comets. Also has his own band, the Arctic Circle, with rotating members who include Tall Simon, Cheek, Frankie, Serena and Thug. Kicked Petra out in January 2000. Invited her back in August 2000. Lives with Serena.

Vladimir: or Vlad. Russian friend of Petra's. Married to Ann. Lives outside London.

Woflgang: Gay photographer friend of the Swiss Miss.

Yuri: Woflgang's boyfriend. Polish. Likes to be spanked.
