My friend, Alec(whom's picture is on my "example" page), always said that "The Bomb" had a big affect on the psyches of the Japanese. He said that anime is a forum for many Japanese animators to release the effects of the bomb, and indeed it seems that most anime is post-appocalyptic in nature...either that, or deals with rape and multiple penised demons. In any case, whether it is the end of the world as we know it, or being raped by multipled penised demons, both are tragic blows and scarring...and therefore gothic!! I just felt I had to explain why there was an anime section on this gothique page somewhere...aw forget it, I don't care anymore.
