The Pacific club is truly one of the coolest places to see a band. In front of the venue is a large
square with tables, seats etc. so that most of the audience can enjoy their drinks or meals outside.
This was really nessecery becouse it was one of the hottest weeks of 1995. Inside the venue it was like an oven!
Under normal circumstances (screaming girls etc.) there were bound to be people fainting up front, but as I said, Ash
was relatively unknown back then. There was not much of an audience.
They got a great response though. The gig was great! The audience was clapping, jumping and swinging along to the music and the band even got to do an encore.
The band came back, saying that they did know any more songs to play, but the audience kept on calling for them, so they returned for
HULK HOGAN BUBBLE BATH. At one piont Tim wanted to start singing, but then he realised the song did not have any words! This was fun and he
apologized for this.
After the show Tim and Rick had to do an interview for Rif Raf magazine. They were joking around the reporter, who wasn't that good in English. It was fun to see
how they were constantly fooling him, using strange words, laughing all the time, without the reporter having a clue what the fun was all about!
Mark went for a quick shower, got all the beer and the fruit from the fridge and went to the tourbus.
Tim and Rick followed after their interview, leaving behind a very confused reporter.
After telling the band some funny stories about Dutch tv, karaoke songs and a few beers, we left back home again. Ash had to go to Paris to do a radio show.
We promised to meet up again two days later, when they would do a radio session for Dutch radio station VPRO.
