The show started the same as the one in Ris-Orangis, the day before. Again some Erotic City was played before If I Was Your Girlfriend and My Beloved Monster was still in some kind of salsa version. The band seemed to enjoy this show much less than the day before, but in my opinion this show was much better, more agressive... I don't know....

A very cool surprise was Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover, a song that wasn't played before during this tour. The crowd's reaction was very good, clapping and singing along. The solo performances by Butch (Lucky Day and Exodus) got the crowd extatic. They wanted more! unfortunately there wasn't more. Normally the band often returns when the houselights are on... not tonight. Also the announcer usually says: "Ladies and Gentleman! The EELS have left the building!" Not tonight... the band was off the stage and did not return. Later we found out that they never do that trick twice at the same venue...

After the show we found Butch, Tommy and E outside the venue, sitting on some stools, signing stuff for fans. E told us that he thought the show in France was actually better. He also posed with our Elmo doll, together with Butch. I think E is still wondering what's up with Elmo in Holland.... Everywhere the band goes they bump into Elmo (and not only ours....)!

After Tommy and I discussed some old Prince stuff, we decided to go home. This show was cool, but certainly not one of their best. Luckily a bad eels show is still a zillion times better than a good show by any other band! Tomorrow there would be another show, time to get some sleep.....

Before the show it was rumoured that the band and their crew had been pulled over by the dutch borderpolice for a drug control. This rumour was spread by dutch music station TMF, where it was announced during their news item Factory Facts....
This rumour was (off course) false, but it never became clear how TMF got the information.....

radio/tv: No radio or tv broadcasts of this show
bootlegs: as far as I know 2 different audience recordings exist
