Chapter 25

"That was Delicious, Ali!" Taylor said leaning back in his chair full from food. I was glad he liked it so well. We had made three sets of beds on the floor in front of the T.V. Taylor also made a fire in the emerald fireplace next to the T.V. Taylor had on some dark green pants than really showed his muscular legs. He also wore a tight white short and some sky blue Doc Martens.

"I'm glad you liked it." Ali said grabbing the dishes and putting them in the dishwasher. "Do you want to jam? I have this feeling that I need to strum and sing my heart out."

"Sure but where's all the instruments?" Tay asked.

"In the basement." I said leading him to the basement. We have a full basment with everything. We have a pool table, Air Hockey, FoosBall, and Darts in our main room down there. Then we had three side rooms. One was another guest room, the other was my room. My mom told me I could do what ever I wanted to the room. So I painted it white and we had black carpeting put in it. Tara, Corde, and I all drew on the walls and we painted signs on it. But on the wall you would see first when you walked in we had Wishful Thinking's sign with all of our signatures on it. We had a drumset there, keyboards, and my other guitar sitting. We had all the speakers hooked up and our board was also set up to record. Across from the instruments was a hunter green leather couch. We were in the middle of creating our third independent C.D. The last room downstairs was a smiple full bathroom.

"This room rocks!" Taylor finally said.

"Thanks. Everything is set up for our recording setion. We are recording our third independent C.D. right now."

"Cool! Hey do you think maybe WT and Hanson could have a track on your new C.D. ?" He questioned. My God! Our sales would go sky high, but then it ment people would know about the mystery relationships of the groups.

"Sure, but will it be a problem for you guys?" I asked.

"No, we'll probaly put it on our next C.D. but no one will get suspicious since you are our managers neice." I thought that was simple logic and shrugged it off as an iffy subject. I took a seat on the couch as Taylor started to walk towards the keyboard set. I leaned back getting comfortable.

"Will you do me a favor, Tay?" I asked leaning forward so my elbows were on my knees.

"Name it." He told me. I loved our relationship that way.

"Play 'With You In Your Dreams' for me." I said. I think the request shocked him a tad but he nodded and flipped the keyboard on. The anniversary for my mother's death was coming up and that song just seemed to come to me. He played the opening notes to the song as I relaxed letting the beautiful sound of his voice and the keyboard drift around me. I leaned back and shut my eyes imagining my mothers face. I could sense her almost like she was really there, only she wasn't. I saw all the good times we had when I was younger. Us running through the tall grasses of Eagle Lodge playing Hide and Seek. I saw us outside our house planting flowers together. As I saw the images I noticed one thing was never there. My Father. In every happy moment I saw he was not in it. It didn't surprise me. I could still here Tay's voice singing when I opened my eyes.

"And If I'm gone when you wake up please don't cry." All of sudden the grief in my heart rose to my throat. I could feel the tears welling in my eyes and hear my breathing become less and less. I wiped away the couple tears coming from my eyes, but it was no use. The tears wouldn't stop coming. I didn't want to leave in the middle of the song but I had to. I stood up and ran to the bathroom downstairs closing the door behind me. I heard the song stop as I walked to the other side of the bathroom. I leaned against the wall and slid down into a sitting position. I wrapped my arms around my knees and sobbed into my knee caps. I heard the door knobb twist but I didn't flinch or move. I only continued crying and remembering my mother the way she used to be and not the fact she was gone forever. I felt Tay's presence sit in the same position as I next to me. He slipped his arm behind my back as I looked up.

"Why did my mom have to die, Tay? Why did she have to leave me?" I asked with tears streaming down my face. He opened his arms for me to climb into and forget my troubles. I did without any hesitation. I climbed into his lap and buried my face into his shoulder not able to stop the constant tears stinging my eyes. He wrapped his arms around my back as I did the same to him. He let me cry on his shoulder alot these days, almost too much. I couldn't think of anything but Taylor's love compared to my mothers love. He loves just as much if not more than my mom loved me. These days I didn't believe my father loved me anymore. Sometimes I felt like an inconvience to him. I mean always being beat up on has always made me hide from love. The beatings became more regular the older I got. Meanwhile Tay's arms rubbed my back gently and he would whisper remarks to me.

"I don't know why she left, but if she hadn't maybe you would have never spent Christmas with me. That would have been terrible, now." He softly said to me. He was right in a way. If my mom would be around I maybe would not have met him and his wonderful family. It was kinda give and take. I gave away my mom to get Tay, in some sense of mind. I still couldn't quite control the tears pouring from my eyes. Tay ran his fingers through my hair sensing my tense body. I tried to relax but I couldn't. All that appeared in my mind was my mom now, and the day she died. I saw my mother rolled away wrapped in a black body bag. The last image I had was a black bag, not seeing her face or telling her I loved her, but a black bag.
