Chapter 21: Arguments

The next two days rolled around, and August was trying to find the right time to tell Taylor she was leaving New York. She didn't know how to tell him. He was so happy right now. She didn't want to ruin that. She went to sleep the night before with butterflies in her stomach. She didn't want to tell him.

"August. Honey, wake up" whispered Diana. "We have to get you to the airport in 3 hours." "Ok, Di, I'll get up"

She stretched and smiled at Diana. She was like a second mother. She was going to miss her.

August got out of bed and got dressed. She walked out to the common room and sat at the table. She picked up a pen and a piece of paper.

Tay~
This is soo hard for me to do. I'm soooo sorry. I'm going home Tay. This is NOT your fault. I want you to know this right now. This has nothing to do with you. I miss my family, and I miss everything. I've been threatened Tay. I was outside yesterday morning. I went to get coffee from the shop down the street, and I saw posters with my name on them. They said that I should die for being your girlfriend. There were marks thru my face. Its all too much for me right now. I love you so much Tay, and I don't know why you chose me out of every other girl that adores you. I'm going to miss you. I love you. Please don't try to stop me. I beg you, please don't.

Always Yours, Loving you forever,
August.

August set the note on the table and picked up her bag. She went and knocked on Diana's door to tell her that she was ready to go. Diana opened the door and they left.

"Diana, I feel horrible." August said, and began to cry.
"Honey, you shouldn't feel bed for leaving. You want to be with your family. There's nothing wrong with that."
"No, but I didn't tell Tay. I left him a note. And I feel so bad."
"August, he'll understand, I promise."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive"
"Ok"

The rest of the ride was silence. August still felt terrible, but she tried to believe Diana.

****Back at the hotel****

"Morning Tay"
"Hey Ike"
"Morning' Tay" mumbled Zac, his mouth full of Cheerios.

Taylor laughed.

"Hey Zac. Slow down and chew your food."
"Who woo be da fum in dat?" he mumbled, his mouth full.

Taylor laughed again.

"Up, Tay, there's a note from August on the desk..." said Isaac.

Taylor walked over to the desk and opened the note. He quickly scanned it and grabbed the side of the chair for support.

"Oh Man! This is all my fault!!"
"Tay, no its not. She even says so in there."
"No. I should've tried to stop her from feeling this way. Gosh! I'm so dumb!! I need to get to the airport, I need to talk to her. Now."

Taylor threw on some jeans and a hat. He grabbed some money and ran out the door. Sensing that something could happen, Isaac quickly followed, and motioned for Zac to do the same. The two boys rushed into the elevator and stood next to Taylor.

"What are you doing?"
"We're coming with"
"Why?"
"I want to make sure nothing happens, and we're a team, we'll deal with this together. Plus, Zac would whine if he didn't get to come."
"I would not!" argued Zac

Taylor smiled.

"Thanks guys."
"No prob little bro."
"Yea, no problem" echoed Zac.

The boys rode down the elevator and walking into and then out of the lobby, onto the street. Isaac leaned out and hailed a cab. A cab pulled up and they climbed in.

"Where to boys?"
"Up, the airport please" replied Isaac.
"Yes sir Mr. Hanson"

Isaac looked at Zac and Taylor.
"Excuse me?" he asked
"You're those Hanson boys, aren't you?"
"Yes sir"
"That's what I thought. I drive a lot of girls to your concerts and show appearances."
"Whoa, that's cool"
"Yea, and my niece loves your music. I'd have to say that I enjoy it also."
"Why, thank you very much!" smiled Isaac.
"You're very welcome."

The ride took about 20 minutes. They arrived, and Isaac went to pay the driver.

"No, this is on me."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive. Its not everyday that I get to drive famous boys."

Isaac smiled and thanked the cab driver. The driver nodded and drove away. The boys ran into the main terminal to figure out where to go.

"Excuse me, miss?" Taylor asked a passing attendant.
"Yes sir?"
"Yes, can you tell me where the flight from New York to Tulsa would be?"
"What Airline?"
"Up, I think American"
"That flight is at terminal 240-A. It starts boarding in 10 minutes."
"Thank you"
"You're welcome"

Taylor returned to Isaac and Zac with the information. The boys looked at the signs to where each terminal was and took off in the direction of the terminal. They sprinted through the airport, being recognized along the way. Half way to their destination, another attendant pulled up a golf cart.

"You boys need a lift?" he asked.
"Thanks man! I don't think I could run anymore" gasped Zac and he flopped down on one of the seats.

The man laughed.

"Does this happen every time you boys go to an airport?"

Taylor gasped for breath and nodded.

"You are those Hanson boys, aren't you?"

Taylor nodded again.

"That's what I thought. My daughter always finds out when you're coming to New York and makes me bring her to work with me. What terminal are you boys looking for?"

"Up, 240-A."
"Ok, coming right up."

The driver pushed his foot to the gas pedal and they sped through the airport. They reached the terminal just as the boarding call came over the intercom.

"August!" Taylor cried

August turned around and her face fell.

"Tay, what are you doing here. I said not to come."
"Yea, I know, and I'm sorry. But I wanted to tell you that I'm so sorry about all this, and I never meant for it to happen."
"Taylor. It is not your fault ok?"
"I refuse to believe that August."
"What? Why?"
"Because I don't understand why you didn't just tell me."
"I didn't tell you because....."
"Because why?"

August sighed.

"You really want to know."
"Yes, I do."
"I didn't think you'd care Tay. Ok? There, I've said it."
"I can't believe you'd actually think that."
"Why should I believe otherwise Taylor? Hm? Lately you've been so busy with your shows and you've been getting caught up in the hype. I miss my Taylor. Right now, you Jordan Taylor Hanson, are not my Taylor."
"I'm still the same person."
"You are not. We never talk Taylor. You're always too busy for me. I love your music, and I know you love it more than anything, but this is a little much."

August began to cry as she said those last words. She knew that this was the beginning of the end of hers and Taylor's relationship.

"If you're going to push me away Taylor, I don't want to be a part of your life. I don't want to sit back and see you let the fame go to your head. I won't have it."
"I'm not letting the fame get to my head August!"
"No Tay, you're not. You only sit in the car every single day and boast!"
"Whatever. If that's what you'd like to think, fine."
"Fine. I never want to speak to you again in my whole life Jordan Taylor Hanson. Never again."
"Fine"

With this, August ran off with tears streaming down her face. Taylor sat down in a airline chair to contemplate what had just happened. Then it hit him.

"Oh god, what have I done?!?!" he cried.

Diana sat and tried to comfort him, but it didn't work. He didn't want to listen.
