This concept of having a split CD/Record as opposed to 7" seems really good to me. It can really give you a taste of both bands. The album is geared towards people unfamiliar with the bands as it contains some in-depth liner notes (an article from Flipside about the Utters and one from Suburban Voice for the Brigade). This isn't to say that any long time fan should shy away from this album.
All 12 songs are new, and they hold true to each of the band's style. The $wingin Utter$ send off a well rounded set of songs that cover their range of driving punk rock anthems, to folky/Irish acoustics. Youth Brigade comes at you with powerfull, concentrated songs, full of bass and force.
If you're interested in hearing what either of these bands sound like, be sure to pick this one up as it's a great 2 for 1 offer, and if you're a long time fan, then add this one to your collection.
