Had the best time on Friday in Toronto...Here's our story (and we're sticking to it - get it?): Although we had no tickets for this sold out show, we decided to blow out of work early, drive to Toronto and try to scalp some tickets for Massey Hall. The scum bag Scalpers wanted $150.00 ($100.00 American) for nose bleed section tickets. We were trying to make a deal when a guy walked up to us, held out two tickets and said "do you want tickets to the concert?" We thought, uh-oh, he must be a cop, these were counterfeit or he was a crazy dud! We said "what's wrong with them" and he said "it's for real, you can have them." We still were in a state of disbelief and at that point, he pulls a necklace out of his shirt and shows us his credentials - turns out he was Jake Gold, the Hip's manager! And he proceeded to give us TWO, FREE, FRONT ROW, CENTER STAGE TICKETS!!!! SWEAR TO GOD!!!! Our seats were just opposite Gord Downie's mike stand and when the lights went down - to the stage we went, so close that Gord dripped sweat on us. We also managed to get the flower he was wearing and also met all but Gord Sinclair after the show. We could not believe our good fortune!!!! We had a fabulous time and here are some pictures of the show and afterwards.
