From time to time you meet a special soul
Who newly met seems as a long-known friend
Who seen in part reveals a perfect whole
Whose understanding starts where others' end.
Such persons could pass by on other missions
For each of us has duties overdue
But it's my categorical suspicion
I'd violate a duty passing you,
For didn't Kant say something against rusting--
A duty to oneself to better be?
'Cos it's an intuition I'm for trusting
That you could be the better half of me,
So though there may be somewhere else I'm going
I can't pass by a soul like yours worth knowing.
