Jerry Gaskill's musical compositions for King's X stand-out for me on a very deep level.
Although Ty Tabor & Doug Pinnick are considered the "major song writers" for King's X, Jerry's pieces are unique & completely original.

Below are lyrics to Jerry's two signature King's X songs, "Six Broken Soldiers"
(from the album "FAITH HOPE LOVE") and "American Cheese (Jerry's Pianto)".
(from the album "EAR CANDY")

"SIX BROKEN SOLDIERS"

I don't care if you're sick
What can I possibly do?
With an American library
And a contract on you

CHORUS
Got six broken soldiers in the trunk of my car
Two of them speak, four go to bars
Rods in the closet, a six-shooter in hand
A caged-up gorilla, and three local bands

Three local bands
Fluently the parrot speaks
Six languages not known to man
Sixpence for the quarter
As the audience, he scans

"AMERICAN CHEESE (JERRY'S PIANTO)"

I know that
for at least a thousand years
I haven't tried
And I know that
For maybe 10 or 12 long years
I've seen you cry

CHORUS
And I know that
Where the chains of doom are kept
I'll find my shoes
And I know that
(Gotta save myself again)
Win or lose, lose

I know that
The pressure of the world is sin
Don't ask me why
And I  know that
It comes in ways that can't begin
To pay the price

(CHORUS)

Tell me you've seen around the world
Tell me you've crawled inside my tomb
Became all knowing
Then slithered down the reigns to hide some more

Turn away from me
All my pride
All my time

And when you washed away
All of the indications

All my pride
All my time
All my pride
All my time
All my pride
All my crime
