Dust off this baby. These guys were rockin’ out tunes when they were still  making  albums. ( Are those the things we use for Frisbees now?)
Boss Tweed was founded in 1986 by guitarist /songwriter  Bryan Lynch and  Keyboardist/Songwriter Scott Michael Webb. After auditioning several  drummers.  ( This was all done in the glamorous basement of a farm house that Scott was renting) One  drummer stuck out, Darrin Broyhill. Darrin was the heartbeat of Boss Tweed with a steady rhythm  and great fills. It was latter found out through the twice a week practice sessions that Darrin was  also the funny bone of Boss Tweed.
The next search was for a bass player. While Bryan and Scott had laid the bass tracks on  their 4 and 24 track recordings they needed someone to perform this live. Bryan suggested his long
time friend Jay La Plante. Jay was not a bass player by origin so he brought his guitar to learn the  bass tracks on the lower four strings. After practicing and adlibbing with the band Bryan and Scott
soon realized  that Jay's unique and tight rhythm guitar playing could be a huge asset and would provide  a nice canvas for Bryan to apply his solos on. Studio picks such as “Who Are You” and
“Things You Do” showcase this. This still left them, however, with the dilemma of finding a  bass player. Scott also suggested , even though he had done the vocals on his songs in the studio,
that they add a lead singer so he could provide some of the harmony textures  of the studio tapes  to the  live show. Enter Brad Roggatz. Brad was a talented  young vocalist and performed the  lead vocals on Scott’s songs and various covers live. His vocal work  can be heard on "Homefront",  an anthem regarding what it may have been like for soldiers coming home after a war. Also unfairly
thrust upon Brad was the task of learning to play Bass guitar live, an instrument he had never picked up  until now. Scott and Darrin, an acomplished bass player himself, spent many hours before and
after practices working with Brad. This was Boss Tweed “Original Rock That Rocks”.

We would like to dedicate this CD to the memory of Jay LaPlante who has since  passed away  from the grips of cancer. You could not have met a kinder young man  than Jay. He would  bend over backwards to help anybody with anything and always  had a
“ Happy Go Lucky” attitude.  He will be missed.
