I attended both Flower King shows, On March15th and 16th in Tokyo, Japan. In the 1970's and 1980's, Kaipa's music was unavailable in Japan. When Kaipa was finally released by Musea, I played it continuously, and the strength of this music impressed me so much I was brought to tears!
Roine Stolt, who was a member of Kaipa, is now in the Flower Kings, and now they are here in the prog-rock scene of Japan. These concerts are very hard to express in words! I suppose one word can best describe the shows: WONDERFUL!

The concert began with the sound of the Ping-Pong, which led into "Retropolis." When I heard Roine's guitar live for the very first time, tears of emotion poured forth. It was also great to hear a perfect version of,"Inget Nytt Under Solen," a Kaipa-age tune from the second album.Like our MC,the humor in Tomas Bodin's musical performance overflowed! Splendid keyboards!

You can play music perfectly and use technology in Prog-Rock, but it has no value if not played with heart. The Flower Kings, played with heart throughout the entire performance! All of the members play well,but the true treasure of this band is the warmth they share for humanity
which make the songs stronger all the more.

The band played very tight, as if their minds were connected! The intensity of the first show carried over to the second show,complete with two encores!The music of Roine and Tomas felt natural,and at times amusing.

The next time the Flower Kings visit Japan, I will be there for the performance, Surely!
I wonder when that may be?!
