FROM THE WIRE

E-Wave: The No Zone experience.May 15, 97

The last Nozone gig was almost 2 months ago. Though nerve wrecking from the start to last. The guys behind the "no-money" wheeling production decided to hybernate and afford some time to licked its wound. Noticable performance were almost the same except from new up-starts; Pillowuzi. Which was an added plus due to the stagnant rate of bands performing at Nozone. More info on them on the coming months.

The usual headturners were Aspirin. The gang of four frolick there way with noise and atmospheric sound. Blinded by love captivated the crowd with Belle as an opener and went further with 3 more originals. Sonnet 58 dozed off with a Saint Etinne cover as well as the shoegazeque set they always performed. Brilliant sound from Melody Wrench Punk-ridden angst from Cellblock 78. Uranus with their feme-fatale singer back on board. Lambasted our ears with slacker tunes and ended with a cover from Versus.Whew! The band which draw most of the crowd was Swab. The new band from crooner Francis (FingernailCocktails) was all AWESpiring. All i can say after the set was. Luna,luna,luna...
