Darren watched as the man pulled the trigger on the gun. He dived out of the way as he heard glass shattering behind him.

Colby heard the shot from across the street.

"Darren!" she cried. She dropped Obi's leash and ran across the street. As she approached the door she saw Darren fall backwards. A strange man tore out of the store and into a nearby car. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw Darren lying on the ground. She reached him at the same time Sam did, and both realized that the bullet had missed him. Darren sat up, and smiled.

"Come on, you didn't think that a silly little bullet was going to get me, did you?" He started to laugh, and it wasn't long before him, Colby and Sam were laughing so hard they had all had tears in their eyes.
