Justin knew JC from MMC (the Mickey Mouse Club), Chris knew Joey from Universal Studios, Joey knew JC from being at MMC tapings, and Justin's vocal coach found Lance. Did you get all that? That is basically how the guys met. They were together six months on their own without management, making demos with the help of someone JC and Justin knew from MMC. The guys' intricate harmonies meshed and their dance skills prevailed...So much so as to attract the attention of Backstreet Boys' manager, Lou Pearlman. After BSB's initial failure in the U.S., Pearlman started N Sync out in Europe rather than take the chance again. The rest is music history! As of now, their U.S. album has gone double platinum, they have been featured on countless talk shows and TV programs, and their video, "Tearin' Up My Heart" continues to break records on MTV.
