Some Days

Some days are the hardest thing to bear

When nothing feels right, anywhere

You look for peace you cannot find

Hidden deep within your mind

Darkness calls to me those days

I’d like to find the darkest ways

Where all but me will fear to tread

Where others turn away in dread

You turn away form everyone

They try to help, you try to run

You’d rather just put out the lights

And hide within the darkest nights

I’d like to seep away like mist

Or hold the knife up to my wrist

But I’d hate to take the plunge and find

I missed the ones I left behind

They’re your friends, or so they say,

You’ll hurt them if you go away

But you’ll hide from them the pain inside

Alone you’ll face the coming tide

I could walk through the door

And not look back, nevermore

Seep into the dark from light

And finally give up the fight
