Canadian singer Bryan Adams recently
shot a cameo in an upcoming film by acclaimed Russian director Andrei
Konchalovsky. Adams' management company said the singer
was in Russia at the time of the Sept. 11 terror attacks in New
York and Washington, filming his part for Konchalovsky, screenwriter
of "Andrei Rublev" (1972) and director of"Duet For
One" (1986), "Shy People" (1987), "Runaway Train"
(1885), "Tango & Cash" (1989) and the 1997 TV edition
of "Homer's The Odyssey." The film is titled
"Dom Durakov". It tells the true story of a group of mental
patients in Chechnya who were abandoned by their care-givers during
the Russian bombing raids there in 1985. Adams plays himself,
performing "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman" during
a dream sequence, the management company said. In the
wake of the recent terror attacks, Adams has cancelled a planned
tour of India next month. That country recently saw the release
of a new Adams album entitled "Do To You." The disc was
drawn from a performance Adams gave in May 2001 for an MTV India
taping. Meanwhile, Admas and bandmates Keith Scott (guitar)
and Mickey Curry (drums) celebrate 20 years together as a band on
Oct. 2, 2001. (More on Bryan Adams)
