THE PEACHKINGS
The Peachkings are an unplugged Pop-Rock band. Their strongest quality is their fresh and energetic live show, the true spirit of Rockīn Roll is always shining through in their performance. Because their credo is that diversity is the spice of life they play songs that come from a very wide musical range. All the big names can be found in their setlist: Led Zeppelin, Prince, Lenny Kravitz, The Beatles, Crowded House, Robbie Williams, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Elvis, Simply Red, Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan etc.etc. Along with these cover-tunes theyīre always ready to play some danceable originals. They played a couple of times as a support-act for: De Kast, Blof, Volumia, Venice, Kayak, Rob de Nijs, Skik, Dilana Smith, Normaal, Di-rect, Time Bandits, Slagerij van Kampen, Barry Hay (Golden Earring) and Tex-Mex guru and Grammy Award-winner Flaco Jimenez. They appeared live on both TV-Oost Television and RADIO-Oost Radio. During the summer of '99 they spent three weeks playing live in Portugal, including performances on the Algarve Radio-Station Kiss-fm. Order their 8-track debut CD including a multimedia video or their new 5-track CD now! In early 2003 the original song "There" was chosen to appear on the promotional CD "Dutch Pop 2003" from Radio Netherlands along with songs of Hans Dulfer and Di-rect etc.! Every week they can be found playing your favorite pub, party or festival!
Line up: Gio and John played together in a band named Apple. They were demo of the month in Aardschokmagazine, played as support act for
Golden Earring, won a bands-competition, played on festivals with Herman Brood, Daryll Ann, Van Dik Hout and Hans Dulfer. John played with Eric Singer (ex-Kiss,-Alice Cooper,-Gary Moore) in Zaandam en D?seldorf. But when Apple didnīt get signed, spirits were fading. Thatīs when they decided it was time for something new, which turned out to be The Peachkings! Before teaming up with John & Gio, Dennis played in a band named BellyButton. They made a name for themselves locally, as they played as support act for the Golden Earring and american rockers Tyketto. Dennis still does some duo performances with the female singer Danielle Benjamins (actually the two of them played an acoustic song during the last liberation festival just before dutch rockgoddess Anouk would hit the stage!).
Rik started playing the drums when he was five years old. Heīs
been playing ever since along with church choirs, school-(big)bands. He even was one of the thousand drummers on the river Maas together with Cesar Zuiderwijk (Golden Earring)! Heīs also a cousin of John and Dennis. PBN-Management
