For centuries scientists, physicians and philosophers had been trying to understand the secrets of heredity. In 1865 Johann Gregor Mendel, science teacher and abbot in the the monastery of St. Augustine at Bruenn, published a paper on
"Experiments of Plant Hybridization".
He described his experiments in the garden of the monastery und the laws of genetics that he concluded from this.
But the world of science did not recognize the significance of his research work. It was only 16 years later, after his death and by the turn of the century, that these laws of genetics were discovered simultaneously and seperately by 3 other botanists.
In 1992 musicians from different bands with different musical backgrounds joined together and developed a style of music that combines simple elements of rock with interesting arrangements.
The music is based on guitar, supported by groovy sounds from a bass guitar and by drum patterns, but above all by the extroadinary soli of the the lead guitarist.
And the lyrics? Just as Gregor Mendel experimented in his own garden, the songs of these musicians reflect their own ideas and personal experience.
This music may never be found in the music departments of big stores, it may not be given a contract with a major lable, but then 16 years later ....
