The many faces of Dan...
Baywatch
Happy Days Episode #146
Fonzie's cousin, Stan (me), makes his first appearance on the show. Writers
decided to try and start a little fling between the 21 year old Stan and
Ritchie's 16 year old sister, Jonie. In the picture to the right, Stan
is giving Ritchie the 'Hey it's okay that I banged your sister and gave
photos to my friends' face. Ralph Mouth and Potsy are seen in the background,
waiting for good ol' Ritchie to get his ass kicked for opening his big
mouth. Writers found a negative reaction to the sexual innuendos brought
into the show by Stan. Stan remains a cult hero amongst true die hard
Happy Days fans.
Diff'rent Strokes
During the final season of the show, Todd Bridges needed to take a leave
of absence from the show due to excessive drug useage and need for rehabilitation.
Needing a new 'Willis' character, producers set out to find a look a like
a soon as possible due to taping starting in only a couple of day. They
decided that I would make the perfect hip new Willis. The producers of
the show did not think that a tall white kid would pose any problems taking
over for Bridges. The show ended up taping 8 more episodes which never
appeared on public television due to broadcasters frowning upon the substitute.
All tapes were ordered to be destroyed so that the show would remain reputable.
The only remaing piece of evidence is this picture with me second from
left.
Three's Company Season 4
The original idea of Season 4 was to kick Jack Tripper's (John
Ritter) lame ass off the show and allow the newly introduced Stan Brunfey
(from the last episode of episode 3) to take over Jack's place in the
apartment. The new trio would introduce all sorts of new drama which was
not very often included in normal primetime sitcoms: sex, drugs, and rock
and roll. Chrissy and Janet decided that it would be much more fun to
allow Stan to move in considering he was much more macho than Jack. The
producers decided that it was time to not have such a meek character as
the lead, but rather a strong, manly, womanist to take control of the
situation. Janet and Chrissy were to quickly fall to their knees and commit
every act demanded of Stan. Censors boards told producers that if this
was the case, the show would not air. The new theme song would have been
changed to reflect something like, 'don't come knocking on our door.'
