Sophie Meets Scott Stapp

I actually met Scott S and Brian when the guys were debuting live for the first time in the UK in March 1999. I had bought MOP in Autumn 1998 and had been anticipating this gig for forever. They played a very small venue in central London and myself and my very reluctant friend arrived at the venue 4-5 hours in advance, not because my mission was to meet the band but because i wanted to be in the front row. Anyway, i was talking to these 2 girls who were on hols from USA when the guys just merrily strolled into the front entrance of the venue. I was so stunned because bands DO NOT normally do that, they always go around the back. All i could do was whisper to the other girls - OMG OMG it's them. The guys strolled in and smiled, Scott P was on this skate board thing, and then as Scott S walked past i managed to somehow ask him to sign my ticket and have a photo taken, he kindly obliged. He took his cap off, like a true gent and tidied his hair !!! and once we had taken a photo he asked the girl to take another just in case !!! I was soooo ecstatic, he then kissed me on the cheek and proceeded to walk in. Before he did that though the other girls, who didn't actually have tickets as they didn't know Creed were playing, asked Scott for tickets. And do you know what he actually persuaded this tour manager person to put their names down on the guest list. Now how cool is that !!! The band then continued to walk in and out of the venue very casually and i was just so taken aback by this whole casualness thing that i couldn't pull myself together. Then Brian just started to hang around and talk to other fans who had slowly started lining up for the gig. I eventually spoke to him about how he had liked London so far and where they were all off to next etc and also asked him to sign my ticket. He was real pleasant. I think my stupid friend kind of upset him when he kind of aggressively asked why they didn't have a support band !! Stupid twit, no manners !!! I really did want to meet Mark and Scott P also but i guess i missed my opportunity. In the venue however, Mark did come over and shake my hand, swoon !!! Nevermind, as you said there is always next time. I also saw them play live again at a summer festival which Metallica were headlining and it was really good. I was really looking forward to them playing in December but hey shit happens !!!
