The latest, and most significant happening in the Down2None camp is the fact that guitarist Joe has left the ranks.
Joe, who plays guitar on their first demo, began to lose motivation and passion in the music. Says guitarist Kevin: "It was a proffesional choice to replace Joe, he wasn't fitting into what we were doing and he really wasn't complementing me (guitar-wise), we wanted somebody who can hold his own when I'm doing some singing."
When asked of Joe's current plans, Kevin had this to say: "At the moment Joe is planning on getting married, he has a really good job so basically his life is set. I dont think he will start a new band, I don't know if he's really into playing music but I haven't talked to him much lately."
In other news, Down2None have been confirmed as support to up-and-coming new CA band Juice on a 4 week tour of the West Coast of the States this Fall (Autumn).
BIO
From the Lower Eastside of San Jose, CA. comes a group of friends that
musically combine to become DOWN2NONE.
DOWN2NONE has been together for about a
year and consists of 5 members. Telmo-vocals, Kevin (Widget)-guitar, vocals,
Mark (Football)-guitar, Nelson (Splinter)-bass, B.B-drums. Each of the members of
DOWN2NONE has their own unique style and influences, that when combined creates
a sound that put DOWN2NONE in a categorie of their own. A sound that could be
explained as down tuned, low ended distortioned guitars, slapped funk bass-
lines,ear punding, tribal influenced drums and hip-hop influenced, emotion
driven vocals that range from melodic singing up to head throbing screams.
Since DOWN2NONES's first show they have been steadily been climbing to the top of the southbay metal/hardcore scene. Performing with local favorites DOWN2NONE's fan base has also been steadily increasing, due mostly to the bands energetic live show and catchy songs, such as FAKE, DENY ME, FALLING THROUGH, BLIND, DEAF AND DUMB, and the crowd favorite PUTA-SUJA-HOR. DOWN2NONE has just recorded a demo which they are circulating and which is currently being mastered and they are also due to release an EP before the Summer.
DOWN2NONE hopes to gain more exposure by playing shows up and down the west coast and hope to release an album in '99.
