The Saints

It all started in sunny Oz in the mid seventies, when teenagers Chris Bailey, Ed Kuepper,Ivor Hay and Kim Bradshaw decided they liked to make noisy music.
After releasing their first single they got discovered by a record company who took them to London.
There they had quite a big success in the early years of punk.
Ed Kuepper left Saints as early as 1979 (two year after their first release) together with Hay and Bradshaw whilst Bailey stayed on.
He has since kept The Saints running in different constellations,
(see list on The Saints Site).
OK, so that's the extremely short history.
The rest you can read about in the links I've put in.
Stranded CD cover

The Saints Personally I prefer the later records and Bailey's solo albums to the early ones.
I
really think 'Everybody knows the monkey' is fantastic.
It's noisy and obnoxious sounding with some beautiful tunes and lyrics as well. It's great!

Last year The Saints were out on a European tour.
I saw them play in Vienna & they were absolutely fabulous !
This Band is great.......!!!!!!
Martin Bjerregaard, must be the loudest drummer in the world,
Andy Faulkner, is a true guitar hero,
who looks as if he's going to fall over backwards with abandon at any minute.
Michael Bayliss so sloppy with his bass he must have been born with it in his arms.
And Bailey's voice was better than I've ever heard it before.

I have just got a copy of their new compilation " 7799 big hits on the underground " & it is Fabulous.

The Saints everybody knows the monkey
