- "Yeah" - the Meg Mathews column"
- Noel and I flew home from Tokyo last week and we arrived to a bit of drama: Charlie, our 10-year old mongrel, was rushed into Longford Veterinary School for an operation to have a tumour removed. He's still in intensive care, but the vet thinks he will be fine.
- It was wall-to-wall partying last week, thank goodness. I went to the Saint Bar, hosted by Derren and Charlotte from the Active DJ agency, and Brenhan, who also manages Jerusalem. Every face in town was there, although mine was the brownest.
- I had a quiet day on Saturday: I did an hour and a half of Pilates - a sort of yoga with pulleys - followed by a trip to Browns in South Molton Street for a sneak preview of their new collection. I ended up buying a cerise top and sarong by Marni - not my usual black or denim, but I thought that while I have a tan I can afford to be a bit bright. That evening, Noel threw a party for his mum, Peggy. It was her 52nd birthday, and 24 of us - including Nicole and Melanie from All Saints, Rose Fergusaon the model, Saffron from Republica and Goldie - sat down to a delicious dinner at Titanic. Then everyone went on to Browns nightclub, but Noel and I went home to the country. I think the time zones caught up with us.
- Now that I'm back in the office, grappling with my new laptop, work is hotting up - we're planning loads of parties for London Fashion Week later this month, and we are helping to organise the opening of the new Tommy Hilfiger store on New Bond Street. I've been invited to Sao Paolo for the Brazilian Grand Prix, and the director Guy Ritchie has asked me to the premiere of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in Los Angeles later this month. But I think I'm more excited about going on Eurostar to Disneyland Paris next week.
- The best news of all to come home to, though, was that Mary Chipperfield and her husband Roger Cawley, had been found guilty of cruelty to Trudy, a baby chimp, and to Flora, a sick elephant. Animal Defenders, who shot the undercover video footage that brought about the convictions, need your help. Trudy's future will be decided on April 9, and they need as many people as possible to write to them, supporting their campaign that Trudy should not be returned to the Chipperfields. And I was worried about the animals in Thailand.
