The Flapjacks

The Jackals were followed by The Flapjacks, again with Louis (now Louie) Samora on guitar and vocals, and Steve Casmano on bass - and now with Rich Cuellar on the drums. Their "Say What You Mean" album on Tomstone is a killer, and so is their CD "Solid Gone" on their own Doghouse label. There's also a song of theirs, "Sick Bitch", on the "I-5 Killers, Volume 2" sampler (Schizophonic SZ 02 05, 1993, also w/ Dead Moon). It's rock'n'roll that's closer to rockabilly than to garage, with twangin' guitar, an "Elvis slapback echo" (as Link Wray calls it) and most of all: good songs! Highly recommended!
