Chapter 3
Jessica rested her head on Kevin’s lap as they laid on the couch watching the only English channel they could find. She looked up at his face with so much admiration is was incredible. Her hands rubbed her growing stomach.
Kevin looked down and took her hand into his. “What’s wrong sweetie?”
Jessica looked at him hard, not sure if she could tell him the thing he needed to know most. She sighed and decided to take the plunge, hoping for the best. “Kev, there’s something I need to tell you.”
“Yeah? What’s that?”
Jessica sat up. She took a second to find the best way to say it. “I don’t know if the two of us made this baby.”
Kevin sat quiet for a second then stood up. “What do you mean Jessica?”
“I mean that I might have created this baby with someone else.”
He took a deep breath then slowly asked “With who?”
“My ex-boyfriend but..” Jessica stopped talking. Kevin had already left the room. She put her face into her hands and let the tears flow.
She grabbed the phone and dialed Kevin’s cell phone number. He always had his phone on him. It rang three times before he picked up.
“What?” He asked rudely.
“Kevin baby please come back. I need to talk to you.” Jessica cried.
“How could you do this to me Jessica?”
“Kevin, you never let me finish. Please come back and let me.”
He thought for a minute then turned his phone off without saying if he’d come back or not. He turned on his heels and started walking back to the hotel.
Howie and Chrissy were laughing so hard that they fell on top of each other. They were at a dance studio, trying to learn how to do the salsa dancing. The instructor only spoke French so they just tryed to follow her moves which wasn’t as easy as it seemed.
“Oh come on Howard, your the dancer here, you should know how to do this,” Chrissy giggled as he pulled her off the ground.
“Give me a chance, I’m trying!” He laughed.
The continued dancing for another hour then gave up and went to explore the rest of Paris together.
Thorin rested her head on Brian’s stomach. They had been laying on the bed trying to think of a song but instead they ended up talking about their pasts. The current subject was Valentines Day.
“I remember when I was in fifth grade I got a card from a little boy that had a crush on me and he said he loved me. It was so cute,” Thorin smiled at the memory.
“What about Valentines this year? What did you do?” Brian asked.
“Truthfully?” Thorin laughed.
“Yep.”
“Well... you better not laugh. Amy, Chrissy and I stayed at my house, ate ice cream and watched sappy movies because none of us had boyfriends. What did you do?”
“Nothin’ really. We had a concert so we were busy. None of us had girlfriends so it sucked. Valentines always sucks when you don’t have a girlfriend.”
“I remember in high school my friends and I would send each other flowers. It was pretty pathetic, but it was better then nothing,” Thorin smiled.
Brian laughed quietly then pulled her face to hers and kissed her gently. He pulled away a little while later with a grin on his face. I’ll be back in a few minutes.” With that he kissed her one more time then left the room, leaving Thorin wondering where he was going.
Amy held her breath and closed her eyes as the ride took off. Her and Nick were on the “Drop Of Fear” at the fair. The ride lifted them up seven stories then dropped them, going over 100 MPH.
“Oh My God.. Oh My God...” Amy mumbled as soon as they reached the top. She looked down and the only thing she saw was the hard cement hundreds of feet under them. She squeezed Nick’s hand so hard she felt his knuckles crack.
“Calm down,” Nick soothed, but the second after he said it the ride dropped and sent them both screaming.
The ride came to a slamming stop just as their feet touched the ground. Amy opened her eyes and stood up as the bar came off. “That was so cool Let’s go again!!”
Nick’s eyes were big and he looked like he saw a ghost. “No, I am not going on that again.”
“Aw is Nicky scared?” Amy teased.
Nick reached out and started tickling her. “I’m not scared. What are you talking about?”
Amy laughed and ran. Nick followed her and ended up at a little boat ride for couples.
Nick took her hand and pulled her into one of the boats. She relaxed against his stomach and closed her eyes as the boat went through a dark tunnel. He moved her hair off her neck and ran his hands over her shoulders. She wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and kissed her neck, throat then turned her around so he could kiss her face. Just as their kisses turned deeper the boat came out of the long tunnel and the ride ended. Strangers walking by and the people controlling the ride laughed and smiled at the couple. Nick and Amy took hands and left, blushing the whole way.
Kevin slipped the card into the hotel room door and stepped in. Jessica was sitting on the end of the bed with a tear stained face. She stood up and walked towards him.
“I went to the doctor after I left your house and I found out that this isn’t your baby. I was pregnant before we got together. It must have happened a few days before I left to come up here, when I was still with James,” Jessica said, her eyes not once looking into his.
“So what now? Are you getting back together with him?” Kevin asked painfully.
“No, never. I want you to be his father. Then after he’s born we can start making one of our own if you want.”
“He?” Kevin asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yeah, I found out it’s a boy a few days ago.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Kevin asked.
“I didn’t know how you’d react,” Jessica started. “I didn’t want you to get mad at me because it isn’t your child. So what do you say? You want to be his father?”
Kevin’s eyes were watery as he pulled Jessica’s face to his and kissed her passiontaly. “Hell yeah!” He screamed.
Jessica laughed and kissed him back.
Thorin was in the bathroom brushing her hair when she heard Brian walk into the room.
“Thor?” Brian called.
“In here,” She called back.
“Come here,” He yelled.
Thorin set the brush down and walked out of the bathroom. She laughed when she saw Brian and the three bouquets of beautiful flowers in his arms. “What are these for?”
“All the Valentines that you missed growing up.” He kissed her on the cheek and handed her the flowers.
“Aw Brian that is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard!” She wrapped her arms around him in a big hug. “Thank you so much.”
“No problem, anything for my girl. I love you.”
Thorin kissed him on the cheek. “I love you too.”
