Nicole slowly opened her eyes and saw her friend Brooke sitting near the bed that she was lying on. Brooke jumped up and ran to her side.

"Hey girl, how ya feelin'?"

Nicole layed back down. Her head hurt and she had the worst hang over ever. "What happened?" she mumbled with her eyes closed.

"You and Melinda were in a car accident last night," Brooke explained.

"Where's Mel?"

Brooke stopped. She didn't know how to tell her that she was killed instantly. "She....she didn't make it," Brooke said sadly, a tear overflowing from her eye and silently rolling down her tanned cheek.

"Oh my God!" Nicole broke down and started sobbing uncontrobly.

Brooke put her arm around her friend.

"No, go away!," Nicole pushed her back and pulled the blankets over her face and started crying even harder.

Brooke backed away and quietly slipped out of the hospital room. She was sad that her friend didn't want her support at a time so bad as this, but she knew that sooner or later Nicole would need her.

Fifteen or so minutes later Brooke went back to Nicoles temperary room. She wasn't crying anymore, but it was extremly obvious that she had been. "Nicole sweety?" She put a hand on her shoulder.

Nicole rolled over and looked up at her.

"I'm so sorry," Brooke said.

"What are you sorry for? It's not your fault. I'm the one who killed her," Nicole got mad and tried to get up. "Why the hell can't I get up?" She was furious.

"You broke your right ankle. Please calm down. I called your parnets. They are catching the next flight from New Jersey down here to see you. They'll probaly be here sometime tomorrow."

"God, what have I done!?!" she sat back down on the bed, then sat back up franticly. "What about the other car. There was another car right, or did I hit a tree? Wheres the driver? Are they okay? Can I see them?"

"Calm down Nicole. The other driver was a teenager named Nick. He wasn't really hurt, he just broke a couple fingers since his truck was alot bigger then your little Civic. If you want to see him then let me get a doctor to see if its ok."
