Nick layed down on the bed next to Amy after putting the tape into the VCR.
"Why won't you tell me what we're watching?" Amy begged.
"It's a suprise!"
"Fine, be that way!" Amy pouted. She fluffed a pillow and put it behind her head. After the previews came on she immediatly recognized it. "There's something about Mary! I've wanted to see this for a long time!"
"You haven't seen it yet?"
"Nope!" she smiled.
"Good"

Brian put his arm around Thorin and they walked into the house grogly. They were shocked to see Chrissy, Kevin and Howie still up.
"Geez, think you were gone long enough?" Howie asked.
Thorin yawned. "It's a long drive, dumbass!"
"Someone's grouchy!" he snapped back.
"Where is everyone else?" Brian asked.
"Jessica left-" Chrissy started but was cut off by Thorin.
"She left???" Thorin demanded.
"Yes!" Chrissy left it at that. She didnt want Kevin to feel even worse.
"You mean left as in not coming back?" Brian asked and felt stupid after doing so.
"Yup. And she disconnected her phone line," Howie added.
"But why?" Thorin asked.
There was a short pause. Everyone was trying to think of a reason.
"She got sick."
"Her grandpa died."
Chrissy and Howie said at the same time. Throin looked confuzed.
"Her grandpa got sick and died."
Brian was about to say something but stopped. He got a puzzeld look on his face and turned to Thorin. She had the same exact expression.
Kevin shook his head. He couldn't take it anymore. "She left because I told her how I felt about her," he said sadly while not making eye contact with anyone.
"Oh..." Throin silently said. She felt so bad for Kevin. He looked so sad.
"What about Amy and Nick?" Brian asked.
"She went to Nick's house," Chrissy informed them.
Thorin got mad. "I'm supposed to be her guardian while we are here. If anything happens to her...."
"Don't worry. She'll be fine. Nick isn't stupid." Kevin said. Coming from him she knew she was overeacting.
"I hope so," she sighed.
Brian still had his arm around her waist and everyone seemed to notice it at the same time.
"What's this?" Howie asked curiously.
"None-of-your-business," Thorin said while poking him on the nose.
"I'm going to sleep." Thorin yawned again.
Brian followed her upstairs. Before parting for their seperate rooms, Brian placed his amrs around her waist and she put hers around his neck. He leaned closer to her and placed his lips on hers. It turned into a more passionate kiss.
Soon after that they broke apart. Smiling, they each went into their rooms.
------------------------------------
Chrissy laughed quietly as she watched them go up the stairs.
"You go girl!" she under her breath. She knew how much Thorin adored him. Thorin is the kind of person that knows what she wants and is always sucessful in getting it.
"What do you think about that?" Howie nudged her.
"Cute," she smiled.
"Well, I'm gonna hit the sack. Don't stay up too late." Kevin said.
"Ok, dad," Chrissy said with a smirk.
Kevin turned around and opened his mouth to say something, but didn't. He shook his head and continued walking.
"So, are you gonna go too?" Howie asked.
"Why, are you?" Chrissy asked.
"Not if you aren't. I'm not tired."
"Me either."
Then there was a long pause until Howie finally said, "So....tell me about yourself."
Chrissy was suprise by the question. "What do you want to know?"
"Everything," he said flirtasiously. He leaned closer to her and rested his face on his hands.
She blushed slightly. She wasn't used to this much attention. "Well, I was born on March 29 in New Jersey. When I was 15 I moved to West Palm because my dad found a better job and my mom didn't like the cold weather."
She stopped and thought for a minute, as if bringing up the past was hard. Howie urged her on with his eyes.
"Well, I've always done pretty good in school, or atleast I tried. I graduated last year. I've worked part time for a while, trying to make enough money for college. Like, I worked at the mall for a long time, different stores such as the Gap, The Disney Store and Burdines. I've never been able to be like Throin. She did really good in school and now shes a lawyer and shes only 21 years old. Shes one of the best in South Florida.
"Thats amazing. What about Amy and Jessica?" Howie asked.
"Amy and I have the same birthday. She'll be 18 tomorrow-" Chrissy started.
"So your birthday is tomorrow too?" he interupted.
"Yeah, but anyways," she tried to skip the question because she didn't want him to feel obligated to buy her something, "Amy was never too good in school. She still has another year, hopefully she'll graduate. She's smart, but she doesn't even try. Her dad died a couple years ago. He was born up here, in Orlando, so thats where he is buried. He was killed in a car accident. A really great man, he was. It took her a long time to get used to her step dad. He's black," She said caustiously, not knowing what he'd think.
Howie nodded his head. "Thats cool."
"Yeah, thats what I think, but Amy's mom's parents didn't approve, so they disowned her so she had to raise Amy and her sister by herself. And Jesse, her step dad, didn't have a good job, so they didn't have alot of money. But then he bought an old club and now its a really popular dance club."
"What about Jessica?" he asked.
"I thought you already knew about her?"
"I don't know much. I wanna know more, like why she left."
"Um...I don't know. Kevin might have said something about starting a relationship with her, but she can't."
Howie looked puzzeld. "Why?"
"She's engaged."
His mouth dropped open. "Who?" he asked in barely a whisper.
"His name is James and he's 28. He's really sweet. They met a few months ago and just hit it off. I guess she got sick of waiting for Kevin."
"You mean she liked Kev?" Howie asked.
"Oh yeah, she liked him alot. I always thought they would make a cute couple."
"Kevin was so excited when he found out that she could come up and stay with us. Now he's-"
Chrissy finished his sentance. "Sad because she's gone?"
Howie nodded. "Yeah."
It got quiet again. Chrissy looked at the clock on the wall. They had been talking for over an hour. She yawned. "I think its about time we goto bed."
Howie nodded in agreement. He took her hand in his. "I'm sorry about what I did earlier." he whispered.
She smiled and pressed her lips onto his. "Don't worry, I didn't mind." She ran upstairs and into her bedroom.
Howie smiled to himself and turned off the kitchen light.
