Learning to let go....

You're trying to keep it going
Trying desperately to hang on to the past
But even I can tell you
That it is never going to last
And I think that you know it too
You just don't want to face it
Letting go is the hardest thing in the world
Because the pain, you just can't erase it
Do you think that I don't know you?
Your personality's the same as mine
I know why you do the things you do
Because I've done them, time after time
I feel your pain I really do
Though you've hurt me too, from all of your lies
But I can tell that you aren't happy
It's right there in your eyes.
You are walking the road to destruction
It'll take you straight into hell
But it's all you can do to even walk that way
Look at all the times you fell.
Please find a different path to take
And get off that road right away
I know that it's going to be difficult
But tomorrow is a bright new day
Bringing with it a new strength
And the courage to carry on
Just remember to keep it with you
When every other reason is gone.
Take a deep breath and one last look back
And then, just let everything go.
It'll hurt at first but everything will be okay
Trust me, on this one, I know.
