You can take off your mask
by Elizabeth
You always seemed so confident
So confident and sure
Always knew what you were doing
Never feeling insecure
Hiding all your problems
So no one could ever see
Wearing a mask to face the world
For so long, you fooled me.
I never imagined you as scared
Or one to feel shy
But I now see something different
When I look you in the eye.
Take off your mask and talk to me
You know where I am
I'm always there to listen
I see you as a friend.
If you need me, I will help you
Just reach out and take my hand
Whatever you are going through
I can understand.
Now that this has all been said
I've just one thing left to do:
Let me share your secret burdens
Let me carry them with you.
