ABOUT US

Our interest in Aussies was due to the introduction of Chief to our household. Chief was a cute bob-tailed blue fuzz ball when we acquired him. His job was to guard the house and barn, and go to horse shows. He really did that well.

I later learned that he was registered too !    So off to the dog shows we went.

Chief, had been dubbed: JGS Chief Blue Cloud.  An honorable name !  Chief didn't start his show career until the age of 7 1/2. We diddled with sheep, but because he had been reprimanded for constantly bringing the horses back to the barn (that WAS his job!) he just looked at me, and said "this is a trick question--right?" But he would work ducks. So he acquired a Herding Certificate in ducks.

Then, we went on to finish his ASCA Championship title at the ripe age of 11 1/2. He withstood the "foofing" and "poofing" with his southern gentleman charm, and just loved to go anywhere--His most favorite words were:
"Come on Chief, Load up !" Those words brought so much light to his eyes....WOW!  I get to go ! Every dog show that we went, he went, along with the rest of the Aussies we now had.  (you can't have just one)

Time was pressing, and Chief was getting old, so my husband and I thought that we would keep a legacy from Chief. We had him OFA'd (11 years old) and he passed with a Good, and we bred him. Those puppies were chips from the old block--little wiggle butts.

When his first crop of Grand-pups were born--each with that same wiggle, Chief left us and went over the Rainbow Bridge.

We will never forget him, and the new found love that he brought to us:
OUR LOVE FOR AUSSIES.

Thank you, Chief, my friend.
