Farce Islands: In the North Atlamtic,
about 300 mi. NW of the Shetlands, and 850 mi. from
Denmark proper. 18 inhabited islands and are an adminstrative
division of Denamrk, self- governing in most matters.

Greenland (Officially - Kalaallit Nanaat) Huge island between
the North Atlantic and the Polar Sea, separated from the
North American continent by the Davis Strait and Baffin Bay.
Most of the island is a lofty plateau, 84% of which is
ice-capped and 9,000 to 10,000 ft. in altitude.
Under the 1953 Danish constitution, the colony became
an integral part of the realm with representatives in the legislature.
In 1978, the Danish parliament approved home rule for
Greenland, beginning on May 1, 1979.
