Once in every lifetime
Comes a show like this...

The Young Ones. Four rather daft lads struggling to make it to their summer holiday. What student couldn't relate to that?!? They aren't afraid to live or love, because there's a song to be sung. As it turns out, the lads not only survive to their holidays, but also eviction, demolition, bank robberies, poltergoosts, telly quiz shows, farty neighbors, Nazi mailmen, Motorhead, street riots, and a continually maniac/multiple-personalitied landlord.

Rick, The People's Poet

Mike, The Cool Guy

Vyvyan, Very Metal

Neil, The Hippie

Alexi Sayle, The Chameleon

Brilliant Guests!

The show has included guest appearances by such luminous Brit comedians as Terry Jones (Monty Python), Lenny Henry (Chef!), Chris Barrie (Red Dwarf, Brittas Empire), Robbie Coltrane (Cracker), Stephen Fry (A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Blackadder), Hugh Laurie (A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Blackadder), Emma Thompson (duh!!), Tony Robinson (Blackadder), Norman Lovett (Red Dwarf), and Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous). And they're all packed into twelve episodes!

Episode List

  • Oil - All heck breaks loose when Vyv discovers oil in the basement, Mike becomes the fascist dictator 'El Presidente', and Rick's benefit concert for the masses goes belly up.

  • Boring - Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  • Flood - Very wet.

  • Demolition - Facist pigs at the Town Hall want to demolish the house. Why bother with Vyv around to do the business for them?

  • Bomb - A potentially explosive situation erupts when a bomb falls on the house... but worse! The TV license man calls...

  • Sick - There's boogers on the blankets and snot on the sheets when Neil and the others come down with the worst colds in the history of civilization!

  • Bambi - Question: what happens when the Young Ones represent Scumbag College on 'University Challenge'? Answer: you'll find out who produced the world's stickiest booger, who's smashing the 'oiks' and who's swatting away for teacher like a total spasmo.

  • Nasty - Ashes to ashes, funky to funky, Vyv is now a video head and Neil's wearing a dress because some really selfish negative vibe merchant boarded up his bedroom. Only pop music can save them.

  • Time - Vyv's being violently and copiously sick because rick's like scored with a chic and the whole house has gone through some kind of time warp.

  • Cash - As the boys are on thier neverending search for cash they run into a new resident in the house... a 'Poltergoost' who really enjoys hiding the kitchen utensils.

  • Interesting - It's party time! Where else could you mingle with the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, a giant sandwich and a singing tomato? Pretty amazing stuff, eh? Just ignore Neil's boring hippy friend chilling out in the fridge...

  • Summer Holiday - Hey, everybody! School's out! Hurray, hurray! Except, like there's nothing to do, man, apart from getting a big red bus and having a really explosive trip. It should be pretty good fun, actually.

Amazing Art Discovery!

Paris (UP) - Art restoration experts at the Louvre museum in Paris have discovered an incredible underpainting beneath the much-famed painting "Mona Lisa". Leonardo's great masterwork has been much speculated on for years, but has never before generated such spectacular controversy. During a routine cleaning session yesterday, an overly enthusiastic cleaning specialist accidentally smudged the painting's famed smile. When he tried to cover his gaff, the cleaner rubbed the left portion of the smile completely off. It was then that he noticed an underlying, previously unknown, smile, and continued to wipe away at the painting. Museum officials were unable to stop the damage in time. The resulting and startling new image was released in this wire reports photo.
