Hey, Welcome to
Super800nova's
First, I should start off telling you a little bit about myself. My nick comes from two things associated with running. One, "supernova" (really associated with science and space and the like, which I'm crazy about too, but got that nick from running) and "800", which is my favorite race in Track&Field. Unfortunately, someone already had the nick "Supernova800", so I had to go with this one.

My main interest is running, as you can see from my nickname. I started running my Junior year in HS. Ran 2 seasons of track and one of XC in high school, unfortunately my season of XC lasted for only 2 meets b/c I screwed up the tendons in my foot. My senior year of track, I started running the 800. Ran it 3 times in meets. 3:06 the first time and 2:58 the remaining times. Not too good, I know, but I am working on it. Ran a marathon my freshman year of college and also ran on a college team my Sophmore year of College. Currently I'm semi-retired tho cuz I tore the ligaments in my ankle. I'm being forced to sit out 9 months. Thanks to everyone who has written, I appreciate your help. Keep it coming, cuz this is just a minor setback, I'm still going for that gold medal.

My senior year of High school,  I started running a "big" race on my 18th birthday, the 10k classic, one of the toughest 10k's in the US and maybe the world, since its all UPHILL. So I ran that (non-stop btw) for a challenge, but afterwards, I decided it wasn't enough, so I went another step up, to the half-marathon, completing my first on Thanksgiving '00, finishing in 2 hours and 13 minutes. Even beat some Army and Navy boys ~LOL~ Well, and from what do you know about me, that's right, I decided afterwards, it wasn't enough of a challenge for me. So guess what? I ran a MARATHON. That's right...26.2 of running fun in June of 2001. . ~LOL~ Yay. Ummm and I got a lil story about my experience coming up here soon, so if anyone is crazy and really wants to run one, read my story first ~grins~

Last, but not least, a lil dedication to my list of people I am running for and who also inspire me every day  to continue running when a hill seems too steep or my feet feel too tired to continue on..
Well, turns out, change of plans.....I won't be working on a triathlon after my marathon. I'm going to work on my 800 instead. I'm on a college XC/track team and working my way up to the GA Dome meet (a very big meet...one of the qualifiers for the Olympics I believe) and then after that, since I promised my track coach I'd beat his 800 time (1:51.6) one day and most of the female Olympians run it in 1:58,....I want to work my way up to run the 800m in Beijing 2008. If anyone reading this can help me out in someway, I'd be forever grateful. Contact info is below. And hey, I love hearing from other runners, so drop me a line either way! :)
