Well, to start, Earth is the third rock from the sun, and the fifth largest in the solar system! Already, are planet is special.. Because it is the only planet with it’s name not originating from a Greek/Roman god/goddess. Actually, the name comes from the old language of English. Of course, there are many other names like Terre (French) and Tierra (Spanish). Earth (as seen from space) is a blue color. Scientist believe that there is no intelligent life on Earth!!! (Just joking:P) |
| Well, obviously, Earth has the most information available about it, cause well we live on it! But that also makes it the hardest when comparing to other planets. Oh, well, I’ll do my best! |
| Earth takes 365 days to orbit around the sun and 24 hours to spin on its axis. At Perihelion earth is 149,600,000 km from the sun. At Aphelion it’s 152,104,980 km. This makes the average distance from the sun 149,597,870 km. Earth has 4 main seasons. Summer, spring, fall and winter (depending on where it is located from the sun). |
| Earth has a very extensive temperature rang. In some places in can be 58 degrees Celsius, and some places can be as cold as-68! This makes the average temperature 15 degrees. Earth’s atmosphere consists mainly of nitrogen (78%) and oxygen (20%) also with many other gases such as carbon dioxide. |
