Basic Information about the JR kit and type R's
According to Jackson Racing’s site regarding the supercharger it states, “The Jackson Racing Supercharger gives you a 40% boost in power. Instantly. From off idle to max rpm, with no spiking and no hesitation. And forget about sacrificing reliability for power. The Jackson Racing system is built around the renowned Eaton Supercharger - the same brand featured in the Mercedes SLK and Jaguar XJR. Of course, it's also loaded with plenty of Oscar Jackson's trademark engineering.”
However in the world of the type R and running at 10:6:1 compression ratio that’s hardly the case. Jackson Racing claims a stock type R will hit
209-230whp with the stock JR kit and intake. This too is hardly the case. Actually Jackson Racing supercharged type R’s only put out around 180-190whp. The average is around 185whp stock. However with the correct air/fuel and timing devices (stand-alone systems) you can achieve higher numbers.
The reason the type R’s hit such low numbers stock with the JRSC is due the stock R computer dumping fuel from 7000rpm on. By doing this, the computer causes a dip in top end power. The type R’s compression, supercharger boost output, and almost every aspect of the engine tend to work against you. But don’t fear I have found ways around these problems. As you browse you will find awesome tips and suggested parts to aid in achieving great power. These tips will also make supercharging your R less painful. With in the past year I have run into almost every problem and have tested almost every trick and part known. When I first brought my R to
DSR I expected to hit around 210-220whp. I figured with all my modifications I should hit around that range. However the result was far from that. Yes I hit 155whp!, below stock readings. Everyone’s chins at DSR dropped to the floor. After hours of VERY expensive yet important tuning my friend Lawrence, he was able to get my car to 180whp. He told me many things I need to remove and what to reinstall. After months of insaine testing, tuning, parts testing, etc... we have been able to get my car to 264whp and 170trq. Note this is with the addition of many parts which maybe illegal in some states and also the stock boost was raised from 6psi to 9psi.

This site will allow you to prevent almost every problem I encountered. Aren’t you lucky I’m so nice! :) I couldn’t stand to let or hear anyone experience the pain I felt during that first dyno.
Jackson Racing and I have been talking and more tips and units are coming soon.
Anyway on with the show…
